Can you help Bingley Harriers with Road Traffic Management?

7 Dec 2024 by Becky Weight

Bingley Harriers, and especially me Becky ;-), are looking for someone interested in taking a Road Traffic Management Course and using it to support our events and activities which take place partly on road e.g. Eldwick Gala Fell Race which has a Road Closure and Road Crossings. We currently have a couple of people who have the Chapter 8 Road Traffic Management certificate and we would now like to add to this small but important group to improve our cover for events.
The course is half a day and run by UK Athletics. You should be :
• a member of the club and have volunteered (at least 3 months) so you know a little about the club and volunteering and vice versa.
• willing to help with Road Traffic Management at Club events and activities
The club will fund the course subject to Committee approval and availability of funds.
Many of our members who are still active runners split their involvement between running and volunteering, maybe alternate years at an annual event for example, and enjoy both. Also it may suit someone who is involved in supporting other events that take place partly on the road e.g. the Three Peaks Fell Race, The Eldwick & Gilstead Gala Fun Run and Parade.
If you would like to know more about this or have any queries please contact me, Becky Weight, directly. If you don’t have a direct contact please add a Comment on this News item and look out for a response from me.
