A new set of Tuesday Speed Endurance Training Sessions will start from Tue 9th Aug 7pm.
Based at Beckfoot School using the grass track, or the B&B Sports Club fields depending on availability : check on Team App.
The target is to improve your racing pace for distances from 1 mile to half marathon. In September we have our Mile Championships and Northern Road Relays, in October we have Cross Country and Fell relays plus we will be targeting other races as a club in the Autumn. This session will help improve your racing pace in all the above as well as your park run time.
The session is suitable for a wide range of running paces – the key thing is that you want to run faster.
For the first few weeks the session will be a number of 300m reps at a strong pace with 1 minute recovery. The pace will depend on your current running pace – a 5k or Park Run time is a useful indicator.
To get the most out of this for your running performance you need to attend regularly and have a regular weekly running schedule. Guidance will be available.
Training fees will be payable – initially as at B&B i.e. £1 for Members, £2 for Guests. Quarterly Pass Jul – Sep (Members only) to cover Tue & Thu sessions £9 – online via Team App shop. Longer term this is under review and may need to be revised to ensure we cover the costs of our training locations.
