UPDATE 3 AUG Meet Myrtle Park Bandstand 6.50 for 7pm start. Watch for evening parking charges in the middle of Bingley. The Bradford & Bingley Sports Club Wagon Lane site will be closed to ‘sports’ access due to the Bingley Weekender Music Event. UPDATE 3 AUG
The Senior Thursday Group Runs moved from 7.30 to 7.00pm from Jan 2023.
This is to line the training times up with the Junior session and enable :
• Junior parents / carers to join the Senior runs, when their children are comfortable, knowing they will be back at a similar time
• Older juniors to run with a Senior group – helping develop their running
• Junior & Seniors get to know each other
• A common finish time to enable short post training events of interest to Junior & Senior runners.
The Senior Thursday Group Run is still primarily a Senior training session, however we believe this change will help us create a more effective pathway for Junior endurance runners to develop and move through into the Senior ranks of Bingley Harriers, and will help parents & carers whose support for the Juniors and the Club is crucial, and many of whom are runners too.
I know many welcome this change but also recognise that it will not suit everyone. Let me know if this is the case for you, and if you would like to keep in touch with others who can make a 7.30 run. One of the aims of the Group Runs is to enable runners to get to know each other and run with company and I am happy to help achieve this.
On a more general note the Group Runs are from the B&B Sports Club. Please register in good time to allow the run to start at 7. The run will be between 4 and 9 miles depending on the group. In the light summer evenings most runs are a mix of paths, trails and road, so trail shoes may be advisable especially if it has been wet. Please do not attend if you have Covid, or are unwell. If you have any queries – please contact the Leaders below.

A training fee is payable at B&B Sports Club – buy an Annual Pass for £36 or a Quarterly Pass for £9 to cover your B&B Tue and Thu sessions – it’s a bargain, saves you finding those coins, and gives you more incentive to get yourself down as you have already paid. Alternatively ‘pay-as-you-go’ each evening – £1 for members, £2 for guests (first session free). Guests are welcome – please contact the leader as above. Please note training fees are being reviewed in 2023 and are likely to change.
The club house is open so you are welcome to stay for a drink and chat after your run, and there are toilet facilities. If you have any queries please let me know.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
